Have you ever experienced that moment, when you do not have enough time, want to dress effortlessly chic, and then you stand in front of your wardrobe and even though there seems to be no space anymore, you still do not have anything to wear? Why is it so hard to look chic and not spending the whole day thinking about it what you should wear next?
The Parisian girl is the standing for always looking effortlessly chic, but did you know that she actually needs a lot of time to decide what to wear as well? So don’t worry, you are not alone! Situations like these happen to everyone and can happen every day, but I can also tell you that with a few tricks, it is very convenient to dress effortlessly chic.
In Casual Chic in Paris I already told you a little bit that my outfits always depend on my current mood. I do not have a specific style, but I still add a little bit of chicness to my outfits. With the following six rules, you can dress effortlessly chic as well.
Starting with the classics. The easiest way would be to put on a beautiful dress or a jumpsuit. With one-piece garments, you can’t do anything wrong. Nevertheless, in today’s outfit, I was in the mood for a skirt and a blouse.
Blouses are one of my favourite garments because they always give the impression of more chicness.
In general, go for clothes with a simple design such as a blouse, a white shirt, skinny jeans or the little black dress for example.
LIMIT YOUR COLOUR PALETTE
The rule is not to combine more than three different colours together. To many shades can give an impression of discomposure. Furthermore, there are specific colours, which are naturally more elegant than others. Obviously, black is a classy colour, but also white and nude shades are giving more of a chic impression than neon colours. Additionally, pastel colours have the similar effect in the psychology of colours as well.
Of course, beautiful and lavish hairstyles are also very chic, but since today’s article is about how to dress effortlessly chic, it is also to consider to have a simple hairstyle.
Just leave your hair naturally open, making yourself beautiful curls or go for a messy bun (even though creating the perfect messy bun is definitely everything else than effortless. But at least it looks like that, doesn’t it?).
It is no secret that a statement bag can turn even the most straightforward outfit into something special. Despite that, a statement piece does not always have to be a bag. It can for example also be a lovely blazer or fancy high heels.
Moreover, a statement piece is most of the time also a timeless item as well. Quality over quantity is the key to this case. Try to invest in a few statement and timeless pieces, and you will for sure be able to create more effortlessly chic outfits with them.
Since the focus is lying on the statement and timeless pieces, it is essential to limit the accessories. First of all, because too many accessories would steal the spotlight from the focus and secondly because it would give the impression of trying to create the perfect outfit instead of an effortlessly chic look.
KEEP IT SIMPLE!
Last but not least, make it look easy. Everything you do should seem effortless and graceful. Take a deep breath and just keep it simple! Also, do not forget that creating an outfit should still make fun and more importantly, even makes you happy.
